The screen folds right round through 360 degrees, so the same machine is a laptop, a tablet or a presentation screen. With a touchscreen and a pen that stows away in the chassis and charges while it is in there.

When this makes sense

If you take notes by hand, mark up drawings or floor plans, or want to show a client something without turning the screen round. If all you do is type, an ordinary X Series is lighter and cheaper.

What to look for

A hinge that rotates is a moving part, and a touchscreen makes the whole machine slightly heavier. On refurbished models we check the hinge and the pen separately, precisely because that is where they differ from an ordinary laptop.
